It is that time of year again when South Knowlesville fills with families, farmers, artisans, musicians and even a magician or two to celebrate fall’s abundance and rural skills, traditions and natural world that supports us all. Falls Brook Centre for 18 years has hosted the Fair, which started in 1992 in Woodstock, New Brunswick. This year, we are expanding outward into our larger community and co-hosting the Fair with the Knowlesville Art and Nature Centre (www.knowlesvillenature.ca)and the South Knowlesville Community Land Trust initiative (www.back2land.ca). We are also looking to engage other organizations, community groups and individuals interested in celebrating rural living and building a larger community movement in support of rural revitalization. The Fair will be run completely by volunteer coordinators and we have openings for more community volunteers to provide leadership before, during and after the Fair and to contribute to making this an extraordinary celebration.
Fair coordination meeting is Monday, August 12th at 6:30pm at the Janet Murray’s house – call 375-4295 for directions if you plan to come. We will be making flags, so bring a sewing machine or sewing needles if you can come help.
Stay tuned for more details…. or better yet, come be a part of the planning team and make it happen!!
