As an organization focused on educating the public, we understand that knowledge changes attitudes. That’s why our Education Coordinator works to help students understand all aspects of our sustainability work. We offer a variety of in-class workshops, and many of our resources and activities are linked directly to the New Brunswick Curriculum giving students and teachers the opportunity to meet curriculum requirements while getting hands-on outdoor experience.
Falls Brook Centre currently offers a variety of in-class presentations for students in grades K-12. Each activity is approximately 30 minutes long and includes both discussion and participatory games or activities. Activities are geared to the appropriate grade level Atlantic Canada Curriculum learning outcomes.
We are in the process of developing a Renewable Energy Presentation Series, in partnership with the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada (NSERC). This project is designed to highlight some of the advantages of alternative energy, and present them in a way that advocates their use and lines up with the provincial curriculum.
We also offer resources for teachers who want to extend and develop our in-class lessons!
If you have a school group or club who would like to participate in our programming, please contact our Education Coordinator.
